Formed in 1962, the Players, or Nunthorpe Parish Players as they were originally known, performed in Nunthorpe Institute which originally stood on Connaught Road (the building was destroyed in a fire in the late 20th century).
With the building of St. Mary’s Church Hall with its large, purpose built stage, the Players had a new home in 1970 where they have been based ever since. Productions have been many and varied, classics such as Under Milk Wood which was one of our earliest productions in the Church Hall:
And of course our annual pantomime, a tradition which started in the 1970s and (with the odd exception) has been going ever since!
